Knitwear Festival

Winter break is here! It was the last day of school yesterday, fourth day of winter and second to the last day of the Fest Malhas. Off we went to Jacutinga to buy sweater and watch the fashion show. The pavillion was jampacked with both locals and tourists who were drooling to grab quality but real cheap knitwear.

Ended up buying these items, a cream and gold crochet vest (Tricot Minas) and a skirt (Stela Maris). So where is my new sweater? Next month will head to Jacutinga again for another winter shopping. Off-season winter deals usually start after the festival. There are still few classic pieces that I want in my closet this season.

On my mind now is the ensemble I´ll be creating with these new buys.

According to Excellence Mystery Shopping International Oscar Freire Street is the 8th most luxurious street in the world and second in the Americas behind 5th Avenue in New York

Shopping in Jacutinga

I had a meeting the whole morning yesterday in Jacutinga that finished at lunchtime. I needed to wait for my friend, Thaty until 5PM so we can go home together on a car pool. How do you kill time in such situation? The best way is to SHOP especially when you know people manning the stores. You´ve got to huggle for big discounts. Three pieces with 30-50% reduction on its original selling prices.. My fab finds yesterday.

1. Yellow regatta - Fenix Tricot - R$ 20,00
2. Mini cape - Julia Tricot - R$ 40,00
3. Black Paisley body hugging dress - Julia Tricot R$ 57,00

These clothes were actually manufactured in Jacutinga (home of brazilian knitwear). Majority of the produce are ditributed to both local and international market. Some carry the same brandname, some manufacture them for famous names in fashion industry. A heaven for shopaholics.

Will post in the coming days look creations for the above items.

MY SHOPPING LIST for SPRING/SUMMER 2011

Down to last few days of season ender sale everywhere. Next week most of the stores will start displaying spring/summer 2011 collections. Here is my shopping list come the hot season. These are non-negotiable. Meaning I really must have it to survive the heat and just be cool, trendy and stylish for spring/summer 2011.
1. White tank top - Preferably Hering or Zara. Cheap and light fabric.

2. Colored light plain shirt - When giving classes I guess I couldn't wear a white tank top. Not appropriate for a teacher.

3. Black gladiator sandals - Why black?Adding basic color to what is already in my closet. Got a gold with turquiose accent.

4. Swimwear - I wouldn't pass this year without hitting the beach (coz last yr we made it pass). I miss the waves, the sand and going around just wearing almost nothing re 2-piece swimwear. Of course a bikini-worthy body is also a must. Last year my husband told me like "how can we go to the beach if you're not in shape?". I've been working out regulary for the longest time. Hopefully i'll be worthy of bikini at least for my husband/personal trainer.

5. Ruffled white mini-skirt - This will be so cool for carnival party nights or reveillion (new year) party.

6. Cut-off denim shorts - A versatile item. A reasonable escape from jeans (I hate denim pants really). Can be paired with any top. Plain. collared, crop etc. Very flexible with footwear also. Slippers, wedge, flats, pumps.

There are a lot of items I still need for summer re accessories, Gowns and dresses (wedding season). The six items above are the ones I would prioritize when hitting the stores. The rest, will check as necessary.
